Unit 3 - Crime of Passion
The crime of passion exercise was another relaxation exercise. This one was a lot longer but focused more on each body part to really relax. The frustrating thing for me was that it seemed very long so I might need to try it again. Either I was in a hurry or....it was long. Nevertheless, again it was effective and did relax me. I wish I remembered these types of exercises when I am stressed out. Maybe I can save them to my Iphone or Ipod so that they are always with me. I think I preferred the first exercise as it did the trick and was a bit shorter.
I think that all people would benefit from something like this at least once a day. The benefit of going through these exercises is that it give me time to stop, take a break, rest and come back even stronger and refreshed.
Thanks for Sharing!!!

My Ratings
If I had to rate myself, my physical well-being would be a 9, my spiritual
well-being would be a 7 and my psychological well-being would be an 8.
My Physical well-being could be a little bit better, the whole month
of December has been filled with activities or should I say food. Food everywhere
that I just can't seem to hide from it. I had two friends that had birthdays
Nov 30 so we celebrated...you guessed it with food and in December. Then my
birthday was Dec 11. How many birthday dinners can you have? Well I am up to 7.
Now the holidays are here and I am still celebrating with food. But once the
December is over...back to eating better for me. Hellllooo veggies and ground
turkey.
My Spiritual well-being could improve by attending church more
regularly. I was born and raised catholic and just recently I started church
hopping, kind of like bar hopping but with church. I found a non denomination
church that seemed like a party. It is a little bit of a drive but well worth
it. The challenge that I have with it is usually Sundays I like to go running
so I have had to choose between running and church. Well the running has been
winning but now that it is winter should get there more.
My Physiological well-being could also improve. I am very
passionate about what I do and how I do it. The challenge that I have here is
that I expect for people to be the same. Therefore, I have decided that I will
let things roll. Roll right off of me that is. Control what I can, do what I
can and let others be accountable for what they do and who they are.
My Goals
- Physical well-being – get back into exercising every day and eat healthy and less holiday food
- Spiritual well-being – get back into a schedule for church on either Saturday afternoons or Sunday mornings
- Physiological – relax more, getting back into yoga, or meditation. Use more aroma therapy and more time for myself.
Talk with you soon!

Relaxation Journey
Relaxation Journey
I did this journey and found it to be very effective to the point where I almost took a nap. So what did that mean? Either I was super tired or it just was plain relaxing. I layed in my bed and got very comfortable. My room is my sanctuary and it brings me peace (no kids, no animals, just me and my king size fluffy bed with a ton of pillows). The man's voice was very relaxing and calming and the tone that he used just helped me focus on my body to be warm and heavy which equalled a state of relaxation. The more he kept repeating himself, the more I thought I would doze in and out. As I continued to breath deeply and slowly it kept me more focus on my intentions of what my goal was and the final outcome -- relaxing. When he was ready he brought me back out of this almost asleep state, and I felt more energy and less stressed.
How did he do this, how can someone take control of my life to change my well being in less than 10 mins. Could I have done this myself. So one of the "healthy secrets" in life is relaxation. We can do that by simply putting mind over matter, visualization and focusing on the end result. Our body follows our mind and if we can train ourselfs to do so, we can live a less stressful life. This is an important part of well being and we should all take the time to practice this technique at the minimum of once per day.

Intro
Hi Everyone!
This is my first blog so please bear with me. I am hoping to share my insights on the Healthy Secret so stay tuned....
As we all go through life we experience lessons learned. Sometimes they are good and other times they are bad lessons. Nonetheless, it helps us grow to become the people we are today. Hence, we have an opportunity to share our lessons with family, friends, peers and children so that they do not have to learn the hard way.
What is the secret to a healthy life? Each of us needs to define our life and what is important to us as we all walk in different shoes. With that said, we are just people all searching for the same thing....health.....wealth....happiness. Can it be done, can we have all of it or must we compromise? Thoughout this class I will share tidbits of what I consider we do to achieve health. I do think it is a secret otherwise we would have more healthier people and less diseases in the world. So please follow me and share my thoughts.
